Happy New Year!
2024 has been a crazy year for me. A lot in my life has changed for the better. To start the year off I finished graduate school applications and interviewed in the beginning of March. One week later I found out I had gotten into my dream program at Georgia Southern. This meant that in the fall I would be heading to Georgia to start the next chapter in my life. Then in May I graduated from the University of Jamestown with my bachelors degree, ending my undergraduate chapter of my life. Over the summer I got to work for a great summer program and soaking in every minute I could at the lake. Next came a week and half of an adventure with my mom has we drove down to Georgia. This is one of the best trips I have ever had. My mom makes the best travel buddy anyone can ask for. In August I started my first semester, it was a lot to take in and some days were difficult. I was not prepared to feel homesick and having many days where I wished I could just drive home for the weekend. Next came one of the biggest things I was not prepared for which was surviving one of the worst hurricanes that had hit Georgia. After having no power and missing home I hopped on a plane to home for some days. I thank God everyday that the plane tickets were cheap so I could go home and spend some time at the lake and be with my mom. This is one of those moments as evidence that God was looking out for me, so I could do what I needed for my mental and emotional health. Over Thanksgiving I got to spend sometime with my Aunt and Uncle which was amazing. Then came December I finished my first semester, flew home for the holidays. It was the best to spend time with family. Lastly, I started Unafraid Catholic which has been one of the best decisions I have made.
As we reflect on the last year remember to also live in the moment. It can be good to reflect on the past and look forward to the future. The best thing is to live in the moment. With putting Christ at the center of my life I have been better at being in the moment and focusing less on the future. So, one of my New Year resolutions this year is to live in the moment and worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. I can do this by saying a simple prayer each day by asking God to help me live in the moment. If making a New Year resolution this year make at least one of them about growing your faith.
Happy New Year and Cheers to 2025!
