Palm Sunday
Palm Sunday marks the start of Holy Week. This is the final week before Easter. Why is Palm Sunday important? It marks Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Where people were anxious to meet and greet him. Yelling Hosanna and took palm leaves and laid them out in front of Jesus. People celebrated his arrival into Jerusalem. Palm Sunday gives two feelings. The first is joy and the second somber. We feel the joy people had for him as he entered Jerusalem on a donkey. Praising him for the King he is. Yet, we get this somber feeling that within the week Jesus is crucified and dies. Palm Sunday also fulfills the prophecies that Jesus comes in on a donkey, symbolizing he is the King. Sometimes. Palm Sunday can get dismissed but it is just as important as it marks the start of what is the most important week within the Catholic faith. It starts the week that ends with the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It starts the week where Jesus defeats death and saves each and every one of us. Palm Sunday is such an important event that all four Gospels mention this event. Happy Palm Sunday everyone. Holy week is upon us, finish this Lenten season on a very prayerful note.
